Our teaching staff are recruited from all around the world. In particular we have teachers from UK, New Zealand and Australia. We are fortunate to have little turnover of staff which ensures continuity and commitment to our school. Our recruitment policy for new staff is always to advertise around the world and recruit only the very best of teachers who have an education degree and teaching certification from well established higher education institutions. We also look for teachers who are dynamic, enthusiastic, caring, knowledgeable about primary education, internationally minded and who would enjoy Hong Kong. We expect the staff to be totally committed to doing their very best in the interests of all our students and the school.
Generally our teacher to student ratio ranges from 1:5 in pre-nursery, 1:8 in Nursery, 1:12 in Reception to Year 2 and then 1:24 in the upper years. The support from classroom teachers is however supplemented by our specialist teachers in Physical Education, Music, Chinese Studies, English as an Additional Language, and Special Educational Needs.
Our teaching staff are complemented by a team of support teaching staff to include assistant teachers in all classes from Nursery to Year 2, and support teaching staff for the Library, Resources room and Information Technology.
We also have an efficient administration and care-taking under the management of Claudia Chang our Business Manager.
